Activation of the Barra Lighthouse - Ilhavo - Portugal (Done)

The A.I.R.A., the International Amateur Radio Association, will be holding a special activation on July 18, 2026, from the iconic Barra Lighthouse in Ílhavo, Aveiro.
This initiative will take place between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, bringing together amateur radio operators and radio communication enthusiasts in an event that combines technology, history, and the sharing of experiences.
The organization has invited all interested parties to follow the event via RF on the indicated frequencies and bands, establishing contact with the special callsign CS5AIRA-P.
All participants who manage to establish contact with the special station will be entitled to a contact certificate, accompanied by historical information about the Barra Lighthouse.
These documents can be collected on the AIRA website after activation with your own callsign, thus providing an enriching and memorable experience.
This activation represents another opportunity to promote amateur radio, encourage community participation, and value the national maritime heritage.
